Thank you for considering me to care for your loved one. I am passionate about providing compassionate care with dignity to all ages, and especially to seniors. Everyone has a story, and I enjoy learning about a person and learning from them. Words of affirmation and letting people know they are loved and valued are a natural part of who I am. I cared for my grandmother who had dementia, and also for my mother-in-law. Over time they both experienced a decrease in mobility. I witnessed how these challenges (among others) affected the person, and also experienced how it affected the family. My professional and volunteer background is in social work, therapeutic recreation, and psychology. I have served as a mental health case manager, adult daily living skills instructor, therapist, staff at elder hostels, a Special Olympics softball coach, and also regularly provide activities at assisted living facilities. Susie was just absolutely wonderful with my mother. She cheerful and always willing to go the extra mile to help Mom and even my sister or me. I nearly cried when she told us she was taking on other responsibilities with her parents in Florida. I wish we could find another Susie clone.
