Children are naturally eager to learn and grow as they play. It's exciting to share curiosity and enthusiasm, as we explore, discover, and create, especially outdoors! I taught preschool for 15 years. Since then it has been a joy to work as a nanny with children newborn to five years, in six wonderful families. Training with educational programs has broadened and enriched my experience. My practicum was a unique chance to work closely with parents and children in a co-op classroom under a Master Teacher. Volunteering in Open Classroom offered fun learning activities for children, K-6. Creating and guiding my own Outdoor Classroom Camp was an opportunity to offer exciting and joyful outdoor experiences to families in my community. Caring for children and families is my life's work. I love being creatively and actively involved in work that matters.

It’s hard to say enough good things about how wonderful Susan is. She is truly the perfect nanny- kind, calm, experienced, and so much fun. Our kids love her and so do we- she truly feels like a part of our family. There is no one I would trust with my children more. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was with us from Dec 2024- August 2026 and the only reason we said goodbye was due to moving and our daughter starting school or we would have had her stay with us forever. She cares primarily for our infant daughter until she was a toddler and often for our toddler son when he wasn’t in school. We would recommend her without hesitation and trust her completely with our children’s lives. 

We were incredibly lucky to have had Susan as our nanny as she is an exceptional one. She is literally the definition of a 'gem.' We found her on Care.com and hired her to take care of our then 6-month-old baby and our three-year-old when I went back to work full-time, and it was the best decision. Every single day she went above and beyond to care for both of our children, quickly adapting to their routines, while also stimulating each individually with age appropriate activities. Since our oldest loved stories, she would bring new books every week about subjects he was interested in. These were books that she either bought or got at the library for him without anyone asking. She would also bring blocks or puzzles for them. She's an outdoor person, so she would always take our infant on fun strolls. As a former pre-school teacher, she knew exactly how to engage with him and his skill motors developed tremendously. Also, whenever our oldest would struggle with big emotions, Susan was wonderful at helping him process them. I really cannot speak highly enough of Susan. We were devastated when we had to move back to Los Angeles for work and leave her behind. We would hire her again in a second. She is truly a gift to any family. 

If I could give Susi 100+ stars, I would, but her value cannot be measured. Susi was our nanny for 2 years from the time my younger daughter was 3 months old until she was 2.5 years old and also helped out with our older daughter who was 3.5 - 5 years old during that time. She became a part of our family and is an overall amazing person and wonderful caregiver. She has incredible experience, is very knowledgeable about child development and has that intangible magic of someone who is just really great with babies and kids. There is truly no one else outside of our family that we would trust more completely than we trust Susi with the care of our kids. Our daughters adore her and grew and learned so much from her, and so did I. And even though she no longer works with us, we still keep in touch and I still reach out to her to chat and get advice. If you get the chance to work with Susi, do not hesitate. She is a true gem!

Susie worked for our family from September 2016 to December 2017. She cared for our two girls, who were one and three when she started and two and four by the time we left. She has years of experience caring for kids. She had a very soothing voice that was calming to children. My oldest daughter is very strong willed, but Susie was firm and patient with her. She brought books and learning activities with her to share with our children. She taught them about nature and wildlife. My oldest daughter was in feeding therapy, and she adhered to those requirements and followed our instructions. Susie would also use our car to take the children to preschool and pick them up. The teachers at the school complimented her to us when we saw them and that they were impressed with her care. Susie sang, played, and taught our girls. She fed them, did diaper changes, monitored them during naps. We adored her, and she is only available for hire because our family had to move out of state for work.

Susan has a warm, kind and gentle heart that connects with children on a deep level. Her vast experience and understanding of children comes through with each interaction with a child. 

Susan has been a part time nanny for my 3 boys for many years. My boys love to spend time with her. Over the years they have done arts and crafts, cooking and baking, science projects, and reading books. But their favorite is when they go out on nature adventures with her and explore. For myself I appreciate her knowledge and understanding of child development. I can ask her about something and she has an answer that helps me understand my child's needs and development even better.

Susan has been caring for M occasionally for 5 years (age 3-8) and is absolutely our favorite sitter. Whenever I tell M she's having a sitter she asks "is it Susan?." If we could afford it we would keep her as a full time nanny. We love her! She'll take M to the zoo or hike, jump on the trampoline with her, play with her dog, whatever 

She is just incredible with kids. She was our son's preschool teacher for a while, and started an outdoor program to teach camping, how to build things from materials you would find outside the home in the most creative and interesting ways. 

She has a wonderful, comforting personality that is just bursting with imagination which she shares generously with the children. She is always taking a class to keep her skills and knowledge new and updated to share and explore with children. 

For us, it's almost like our son couldn't get enough time with her, he wanted more. And we wanted more too! She is like a Mary Poppins, you just never know what incredible thing she is going to share with the kids to inspire, teach, comfort or just have fun with. 

I have known Susan for well over 20 years. We have worked side by side through many of the programs that I facilitate and would hire her back in a second. She is amazing with children and I wouldn't hesitate in the least to have her with my own children. In fact, she was my son's and my daughter's preschool teacher and I know without a doubt she taught both of them in excellence. She is a lifelong learner who has continued her education over the years and has included any new research into her way of working with kids. She is genuine and truly cares about the children she works with. I have watched her work and know that I have been often jealous in how she handles tough situations with ease.  Susan is truly a remarkable woman and educator!

Susan has worked for the past three years providing childcare for many of the events that my organization has hosted. Clocking over a hundred hours providing care and working side by side in many events, I can attest that she is fantastic in her response to children and their needs. She is a lifelong learner who keeps up to date with most recent researched based practices with continual professional development.  She truly understands the importance of family culture to each child and is conscientious to each individual child's needs.
