About Susan

It was our genuine honor and privilege to have Susan as part of our son’s life for the past two years. Susan began caring for our son part-time when he was just 3 months old before transitioning to a full-time role when he was 5 months. From the start, Susan was able to quickly connect with our son and became an integral part of our family. As our son grew, Susan demonstrated her ability to manage the very different needs of an infant and a toddler. She has continually provided a loving, safe, calm and engaging atmosphere filled with learning. She does a great job of letting our son be himself, explore and experiment while maintaining appropriate and safe boundaries as he interacts with the world. As someone who works from home multiple days per week, Ryan has been a witness to Susan’s abilities firsthand. Whether singing songs, reading books, playing trains or enjoying a meal together, there was one constant background noise Ryan became accustomed to - laughter. We always felt comfort in knowing our son was being lovingly attended to and engaged with. Over the past two years, we have watched our son become a smart, outgoing and kind boy, and we know that this is certainly due in part to Susan’s love and guidance. Beyond just caring for our son, Susan has also continuously shown initiative around the house, often going above and beyond. During her two years with our family, she has been incredibly reliable such that we have never had to scramble to arrange for childcare coverage. As both of us have jobs that require long hours and in-person requirements, it was always a comfort to know that we could rely on Susan to be there and be flexible if our working hours ever extended beyond normal. We fully intended on having her also care for our daughter, who will be born in late September, but unexpected circumstances surrounding Emma’s job have unfortunately forced us to part ways.
