Hi My name is Sthella! I'm currently in school earning my AA degree in Pre-Medical Science/ Dentistry. I'm a reliable, organized, proactive, energetic, and extroverted person. I worked as a nanny for a few years as I was also holding other jobs non-related to children. I have taken care of children from 3 to 9 years old. Additionally, I love caring for pets as I have a 6-year-old fur baby of my own. I love and enjoy working with children. I believe we can learn so much from them! I find contempt in playing sports and doing fun activities with them, but I am also eager to help with their intellectual development through reading activities and helping with homework. Parents can rely on my ability to provide a supervised, and safe environment for your little ones. I'd be happy to assist and support your family!
I hired this caregiver for a recurring Monday–Friday after-school position. She was energetic and engaged well in play with my toddler. However, I experienced consistent issues with communication, judgment, and following clear instructions. For example, despite clear guidance not to ask my child open-ended questions about meals, she asked what my child wanted for dinner and then insisted it was not her fault when my child requested peanut butter and jelly. This reflected a lack of understanding of basic childcare structure and decision-making. There was also a concerning situation where she proposed attending an online class (with camera on) while caring for my child and continued to push this idea after I declined multiple times due to safety and privacy concerns. This ultimately required me to adjust my own work schedule on short notice. I generally try to assume the best in people and have not left negative reviews for past caregivers, even when they were not the right fit, as differences were usually about style. However, in this case, the communication felt consistently difficult and at times confrontational. Overall, I did not feel confident in her ability to follow direction, respect boundaries, or exercise sound judgment in a childcare setting, and I decided not to continue working with her.
