About Stephanie

I am certified to teach outdoor education, ecology and wilderness skills through Alderleaf Wilderness College. Subjects of specialty include ethnobotany of the PNW, tracking, primitive technology, and bird language. I am also a practicing artist and have taught both basic art technique and have founded an Art in Nature program that encourages a creative engagement with the natural world. I believe in the efficacy of the coyote teaching method because I believe it teaches students how to think, rather than how to memorize, and is a very effective method of generating understanding and confidence.
