About Stacy

I have been a home school teacher to a child with autism for the past six years. In this role, I use skills gained as a special education teacher, swim instructor, and nanny, in order to provide a well-rounded learning experience for him. I taught special education K-5th grade, specializing in autism for 5 years . In this role, I used research based strategies to teach language, positive behavior, and social skills: needs that every child has, not just those with autism. I hold a Master's degree in Education, specializing in Emergent Literacy. Before teaching, I was a stay at home mom for 5 years, a nanny for 3 years, and a swim instructor/coach for 5 years. I would love to work with a family who is looking for someone to facilitate the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of the children in a developmentally appropriate way. I would love to teach the children swimming, if given access to a pool. I love to cook and don't mind light housework or errand running.
