Hi! I'm Sophie, a career nanny based in the Portland metro area with 5+ years experience caring for children from infancy through preschool age. I've been babysitting since I was 13 and began professional nannying in 2020.

Before that, I spent five years as a synchronized swimming coach, working with athletes ages 5 to 75. That taught me patience, strong communication, and how to tailor support to each individual-skills I use in every childcare role.

I bring a calm, consistent presence and pride myself on creating a safe, loving environment where kids can thrive. I'm confident with all things infant and toddler-naps, bottles, solids, big feelings, and milestones. I also enjoy working with older kids and supporting their growth through creativity, consistency, and connection.

Sophia was an excellent caregiver to our daughter. She was stellar at reading the situation and adjusting to her needs. Always on time and communicated very well with us as a family. I would highly recommend her.

We are so grateful for Sophie! She was our part-time, in-home nanny for our little guy, starting at six months old until he was 2.5 years (just before he went off to daycare). 

She is so caring and nurturing, while also teaching strong boundaries. Sophie helped through baby-led weaning, sleep regressions, first steps, first words and engagement in development-appropriate activities (inside and outside of the house!). 

Our guy has blossomed into a well-adjusted and confident toddler, and we can certainly thank Sophie and her tremendous one-on-one care for helping with that.

Sophie is an incredibly kind, caring, reliable, and trustworthy nanny. She has been with our daughter since she was 6 months old and our daughter absolutely adores her! J is learning so much during his time with Sophie and has blossomed into a smart and confident young toddler. When Sophie arrives at our house, J is SO excited and greets her just as he does a family member. It’s clear to see that he is comfortable with Sophie and trusts her as a caregiver - as do we! Sophie has helped J with lots of skills, including taking “deep breaths” when he is upset and/or nearing a tantrum. We credit a lot of J’s development to his one-on-one time with Sophie. 

As a young professional, Sophie is responsible and communicative. She is proactive in discussing planned time off, federal holiday plans, and sick time. I’ve appreciated how open and honest she is if she’s not feeling well and wants to keep our family healthy. I think in the past year, she has been “late” one time and she communicated her tardiness - literally two minutes past her normal start time! 

Sophie has been with us through a lot of transition. She started when J was six months old and we were living with family, anxiously awaiting for home renovations to be completed. And even when we finally moved to our new house, it was very much in transition (i.e. no furniture) and she handled it without missing a step. 

We are fortunate to have family nearby to help with childcare, but if we didn’t - I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Sophie full-time. And, she even handles our high-energy dog! 


Sophie has been watching our now 13-month-old for the past seven months. She is not only an important part of our childcare, but she's become a friend to our son. When looking for a part-time, in-home nanny, we weren't sure what to expect, and as it turns out, we're very happy with our decision. 

Sophie is a very polite, respectful, friendly person who takes excellent care of our son, playing with him, reading to him, helping him with milestones, and more. We never worry about our son when he's with Sophie. My wife and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with childcare. 

Sophie cared for my six and three year old over the summer. They adore her! Would definitely recommend her.

Sophie has been taking care of our daughter for about 5 months and she is great! She is reliable, responsible and our daughter always has fun with her. Sophie will take her on walks, take her swimming at the pool, help with meal time, puts her down to nap and always cleans up. We are lucky we found Sophie and hope she will be able to keep working with us for a long time!

We love Sophie and would hire her again in a heartbeat. She did a wonderful job w/ our 10-month old daughter, even though she had terrible separation anxiety. Sophie was really good at minimizing the meltdowns in the morning and she found creative ways to get our daughter to nap way longer than usual. Working from home, I could hear Sophie consistently talking to the baby, singing songs and playing, encouraging the baby to practice newly developing skills, and generally making the day fun. By the end of about three weeks with us, our baby was treating Sophie like a member of the family, which is all I could really hope for. 

Sophie is a clear professional. I respected that she was on time and completely reliable, which hasn't always been our experience with nannies. If she wanted to work full time right now, I would snatch Sophie up in a second. We will most definitely be asking her to w/ our little one again.

Sophie was amazing with our kids from newborn to teenager. We have all boys who are very active and nothing ever overwhelmed her. In fact she played right beside them the whole time. Sophie made them meals, bathed them, loved them and cleaned up ebeytime. She took care of our boys for so long they still call her cousin. If we lived close to her, we'd still use her constantly!

Sophie is wonderful! She nannied for me all summer and now babysits for us when our daycare is closed. She's been with my son since he was 8 weeks old, and he's now six months. Sophie is phenomenal with my son, and she's reliable, punctual, and I trust her with him completely. She got some of his first smiles and she's so patient and gentle with him and had the magic touch to get him to nap even when he was fussy. She always keeps him entertained and engaged and has been flexible with me on scheduling changes and filling last minute needs. We are so grateful we connected with Sophie and we would absolutely recommend her.
