About Sophia

Hello! My name is Sophia, but my students usually call me Phia :) I am a 4th year Undergraduate Philosophy student at Loyola University Chicago, set to graduate in 2025! I have been a College Reading & Learning Association certified tutor at Loyola's Tutoring Center for 3 years now, and look forward to helping some other students learn through care. com! I can tutor philosophy, ethics, reading comprehension, and writing. I like tutoring because it is an opportunity for me to create an accessible learning environment for all students. When I am able to help a student understand a topic, I see how much it boosts their confidence. Seeing students light up when they begin to understand something they struggled with before is what makes this job so special.
