About Sophia

Hello! I am a current student at UMD studying biology! I have worked in a doggy/cat daycare and have lived on a farm all my life! I currently have five fur babies of my own! Outside of my passion for animals I mostly work in healthcare. I have been a CNA certified for four years and PCA certified for one year. As a CNA at an Assisted Living Facility I: -Administered medication to residents -Assisted with bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing -Cared for patients using techniques to reduce anxiety, agitation, and confusion As a PCA worked in-home with individual clients I: -Assisted clients with transportation needs, including driving to appointments, grocery shopping, and running errands. -Monitored and assessed clients' mental wellbeing, providing companionship and emotional support as needed. -Performed light housekeeping tasks -Engaged clients in recreational and social activities to promote social interaction. -Assisted with meal preparation and feeding
