About Sofina
Experience: 10 yrs
Hi! I am Sofina, an experienced educator with 9 years of experience helping students build confidence and succeed academically. I have taught math and science across grades 3-8 and currently specialize in upper elementary and middle school mathematics. I make challenging concepts easier to understand through a patient, hands-on approach tailored to each student's needs. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, preparing for a challenging unit, or getting ahead, I focus on building understanding and confidence. As a former Teach For America corps member and experienced classroom teacher, I have worked with students across a wide range of skill levels and learning needs. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling more capable, confident, and prepared.

Great communicator! From the first message to the last Sofina is always very professional punctual and understanding. She has been tutoring our son weekly now for 2 weeks. She is very organized and I love the tutoring work plan she came up with for our son to reach his educational goals. He is a rising 3rd grader and with Sofina being his tutor I feel confident that he will be above grade level math when the school year starts this Fall. She will also be doing date night sitting for us too soon and my husband and I are looking forward to that. Thank you so far Sofina!
