About Sofia

Hi! My name is Sofia, I'm a junior at UC Berkeley studying architecture. I've always loved working with kids, and growing up in a big extended family with lots of younger kids is what sparked my passion and excitement for supporting children and making a positive impact in their lives as they grow. While at Berkeley, I've had the opportunity to work with Camp Kesem, an organization that supports children whose families have been affected by cancer. Being a counselor for Kesem was incredibly meaningful to me. Seeing kids' joy and resilience even in difficult circumstances inspired me to continue working with and supporting children in any way I can. I love being creative and engaging kids in activities like arts and crafts, playing instruments, and exploring outdoors. I'm patient, friendly, and attentive, and I strive to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where kids can be themselves! I'm also happy to communicate with parents in whatever way they feel most comfortable.
