Hi there! I'm an older 20-something back in school to finishing up my last year of undergrad. I am brand new to PDX but not to sitting! My experience started at a young age as an oldest (with up to a 12 year age gap) sibling who often fell into caretaking! I also started sitting for a few family friends on the occasional weekend night out and after school around 16 years old. I love having an active part in their growth and development centered by play and encouragement ! I am a public health major with minors in both neuroscience and psychology as well as coursework in teaching and curriculum so I'm very cognizant of caretaking and learning methods that support a happy and health child! I will also have my CNA certificate by the end of August. Safety & security is of utmost priority; I do hold a current provider CPR/BLS certificate. I am very open to meeting any specific needs so just let me know what you're looking for!

I interviewed Sofia while I was searching for a nanny for my kids. She was very responsive and seemed like a great fit. She also came to visit my home and met my family where I offered her the position and we arranged to start within 2 weeks. She seemed to be very good with my kids and we had high hopes. 3 days leading up to the start date I followed up with her to touch base. She didn't respond to texts, emails, or phone calls and essentially ghosted me. This was very surprising and unfortunately put me in a very tight spot as I needed childcare for my job. I really wish she had been upfront with me sooner so I would have had adequate time to find an alternative. I still think she was so sweet and it's too bad it didn't work out. I hope this experience can teach her that it's important to have open communication even if the conversation seems difficult. Best of luck Sofia.
