About Sofia

Hi there, I'm Sofia! I'm so glad you're here. I just completed my fifth year working as an educator in New Orleans. In my most recent role as a K-1 Spanish teacher, you would find me in a gently lit classroom with a bear puppet on my hand, singing, dancing, and playing games with my students. I never raise my voice, and maintain a calm learning environment through engaging activities, and consistent routines. Spending time with kids brings out my sweetest, silliest, most creative self. I love to step into their worlds of curiosity and wonder. As a deeply feeling person and someone who was myself quite a challenging kid, I enjoy helping children explore safe and grounded ways to express their big feelings. Music, art, and movement can be powerful outlets for kids, and as a professional musician, visual artist, and certified yoga teacher, I delight in exploring these creative expressions with them. I look forward to meeting your amazing kiddos!
