About Sofaya

I have babysat for neighbors and local families periodically through my high school career and genuinely enjoyed every experience I had. This past year I had the opportunity to substitute teach with kids from ages 5-14. I truly enjoyed this and it has encouraged me to try and work with kids as much as possible. I enjoy teaching them and building connections but also learning from them, as their simplistic way of viewing the world holds a lot of value in my eyes. I'm an extremely adventurous person who always likes to try new things and I feel that this trait helps me to connect to children who often have such curious minds. I look forward to returning to my subbing opportunity come fall, but I also crave a closer connection to each of the kids that I feel as though I lack only going in when a teachers out. I feel as though I could give just as much as I would receive from this opportunity by working more closely and independently with a family!
