About Shyla

I have experience as a leader in the field of Early Childhood Education, along with years of professional development. I have approximately 4 years experience as a nanny with ages 6months-4years. I am currently a preschool teacher, but I am looking to make a change. I was previously employed as the Interim Director of Cate ELC in Carpinteria, CA. I believe in quality learning and education which is rooted in how I build relationships; relationships with the children I care for, the families I work with, and the community I serve. My qualifications also include knowledge of and participation in professional development resources such as the CAEYC conferences, local workshops, and supplemental early childhood courses. Outstanding performance in Higher Education, I graduated from UCSB Suma Cum Laude with a B. A. in Sociology and a Minor in Education and I posses an A. A. in Early Childhood Education. I am also a mother to a 2. 5-year-old boy!
