About Shirley

I am a retired RN, and I homeschooled 4 children from preschool through high school. I currently tutor students in reading to help them improve their literacy skills. I'd describe my personality as fun-loving, patient, easy-going. I like tutoring because I have an opportunity to work with children and help them to reach the highest potential of their learning abilities. I'm looking for a job that allows me to do what I enjoy doing while making a difference in someone else's life. I started tutoring when my homeschooled students graduated, and I wanted to continue helping other students thrive in their educational experiences. In my spare time, I like camping, hiking, drawing, and solving word puzzles. One thing you should know about me is that I am very family oriented. My skills include teaching phonics, reading, and grammar.
