The last 4 years, I spent working as a live-in house parent at a non profit for homeless teen parents and their children. In this role, I taught the teen moms how to care for their children and provide for the emotional and physical needs of the kids, ages ranging from newborn to 5 years old were very typical. I have also worked with children ages ranging from 6 to 17. Being a houseparent, I provided housekeeping, gardening, household planning, transportation and light office duties. I have 7 nieces and nephews, ages 1 to 13. I have been a huge supporting caretaker of them including at times being a live in nanny.
