About Shelby

As someone who grew up with only a goldfish, I became a devoted dog mom after falling in love with my houseguest's pup eight years ago. When he left, I missed him so much that I got my own--a lovably theatrical, always-smiling, surprisingly agile mini English bulldog who became my co-pilot and my everything. I took him everywhere. I was "that mom": holistic, overprepared with extra water bowls, rotating his vests, and carrying all 30 pounds of him up escalators, across busy streets, and over NYC puddles he wouldn't go near. I tragically lost my beautiful boy to a hate crime in September. In the midst of heartbreak, my love and respect for animals only deepened. After years in marketing and events, I'm shifting gears to care for furbabies with the same devotion I gave my own. With seven years of dog-mom experience (plus one with a pug), I'm attentive, grateful, and especially experienced with brachycephalic breeds-their wrinkles, heat sensitivity, and even stubborn tendencies.
