About Shelby

Hello, I am Shelby! I am 28 years old, and a native to Arizona! I have 10+ years of experience working with children, ages ranging from 6 weeks all the way up to Jr. High students. I began my career in traditional daycare's, where I worked as a Lead teacher for 2-3-year-olds. After a few years there I began nannying for 2 children, up until I had my own child! I helped with dinners, homework and rides to whatever sporting event/practice they needed to be. After I had my son in 2016 I was a stay at home mom for a year, then decided to get back to work! I began working at a Montessori, where I really found my passion. I quickly moved up to the Lead guide in the Nido environment (ages 8weeks-17 months). I was able to go to training for the AMI 0-3 course (Montessori). In training I studied everything you could imagine about the developing child (and even the carrying mother). I am CPR/First aid certified, as well as having my fingerprint clearance card! I also have a car to help.

We first met Shelby when she was the lead guide in our son's infant room at childcare and immediately loved her! She is warm, caring, calming and kind-you can tell that she genuinely loves and cares for the kiddos, she's not there just to "watch" them. Our son developed a tight bond with her and we were amazed by how she aided in his development as an infant. Since then, she's cared for both of our kids at our home (1 yo and 5 yo) and they absolutely LOVE when Ms. Shelby comes over because they know that not only will they be loved and cared for, but they'll be engaged with, too. One day we even came home to Shelby and the kiddos doing an art project in the backyard. Shelby is a certified Montessori instructor, so she's able to really guide our kids to learning opportunities and find ways to engage their minds, bodies and hearts. We would absolutely recommend Shelby to anyone!
