About Shelby

Hi! My name is Shelby. I have been working with youth and their families since 2012. In my spare time, I am a mommy to my own child. I spend a fair amount of time taking care of all of my animals, dogs, cats and horses. I also love traveling and going on outdoor adventures. I am passionate about taking care of kiddos, having dedicated most of my adult life to the task. I believe that children are the future and deserve to feel safe and loved. My professional skills include CPR and first aid, creative and play-based teaching practices. I have had trainings in trauma informed approaches, descalation behavior techniques. I have completed 25 hours of continued education through the Department of Secondary Education and trainings in play-based teaching. I am a firm believer that children learn best through play and that they should get the opportunities to be kids, while also learning life skills, such as cleaning, age appropriate cooking skills and social emotional skills.
