About Sheila

I'm a resourceful, energetic, high-performing private school teacher (and mom to three grown sons plus a faraway Gramma to two!!) with a demonstrated love and respect for children, their well being and education. I'm creative, competent and able to remain composed; value honesty and integrity. Able to juggle multiple tasks in a busy home setting with ease, patience and a sense of humor. I prefer the age range 4 to 9. Love to inspire children to learn about the world around them while helping them develop appropriate age-related & social skills. While raising my three sons as a single mom, I worked for 10 years as a preschool teacher. I also served as a Sunday school teacher/nursery worker. Plus, I designed and launched various programs for children such as Miss Sheila's Kids in the Kitchen at the Dutchess County Fair. A journalist by training and trade, I love to write and am currently shopping around my first children's book. PS I was the mom who never wanted summer vacation to end!!
