I finished CNA school in 2002 and since then I have worked with elderly people, terminally ill people and young people with special needs, specifically nonverbal autistic with seizures and completely dependent cerebral palsy with seizures. I am working with one young person now and have an opening for one more. I am a good hand and a good heart with many years of experience. I am available week days after 4 p.m. and all day Fridays and Saturdays presently. I'd describe my personality as compassionate, with a good sense of humor and committed. I began working with my first special needs young person in 2013. Before that I cared for the elderly. I like working with special needs kids and youth because they connect and communicate in a whole new way than other people. Learning to understand and cherish them is a joy to me.

Shawn is compassionate, patient, smart, funny, and kind. She loved my son and he loved her. My son was non-verbal but Shawn immediately found ways to communicate with him. Her energy and patience are boundless. The final 4 years of my son’s life were enhanced immeasurably by her. Anyone would be lucky to have Shawn as a caregiver. She is amazing.
