About Shawna

Hi, my name is Shawna! I have worked with children for 30 years and have made it my career. Currently I'm seeking part time employment during weeknights and weekends. I'm CPR/First Aide certified, have 90 hrs of preschool certification, and 45 hrs of Infant & Toddler, and School-Age certification. Currently I'm attaining my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have worked with infants through age 13. I currently work at a child care center in Upper Marlboro, MD. where I have been for the last 13 years in the Infant & Toddler program. I'm willing to help with light household chores in support of children's needs. Time with children is the priority but I like to stay busy if the children are napping. I enjoy reading stories, singing songs, playing games, arts & crafts, cooking projects, the great out doors and nature. I enjoy learning new things as well as teaching. The most beautiful thing is when a child learns something new because their eyes light up with joy.
