About Shawna

Hi ~ I'm Shawna, born and raised in Grand Rapids. I'm currently pursuing my bachelor's degree (better late than never!) while building a career in professional childcare and household support. I believe it's important for children to feel safe, supported, and able to have fun. I also understand the importance of stability, predictability, and routines in helping children feel secure. I bring the reliability, stability, and life experience of a mature caregiver, along with a very energetic and youthful personality. As a mother of three grown sons, I understand the importance of trust and reliability in childcare. I've also helped care for a friend's young grandson, which renewed my interest in childcare. I am certified in Adult/Pediatric First Aid and CPR and have also taken classes in safe sleep practices and child development. I'm very adaptable and flexible, I enjoy learning what works best for each family's routines, parenting style, and household dynamic.
