About Shauna

My name is Shauna and I've always had a passion for working with children even as a child! What I wanted to be when I grew up, always changed as I learned and experienced different things. From wanting to be a daycare teacher, when I was in daycare, to a school-age teacher when I was in school, to a therapist then to a social worker. I began college for child psychology, and while I went to school, I worked in a preschool. Working there is what shifted my goal from being a social worker to wanting to have my own safe space for children and having a daycare of my own, after seeing a few flaws in these large childcare chains that I wanted to change. While working in a preschool, I started as a twos assistant teacher, then became a lead teacher. I was also in the nursery whenever they needed assistance! I having my Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff certification as well as CPR and first aid certified and I have experience potty training children
