About Sharon

I've been a professional nanny for 25 years. I've mainly worked long term full time for 4 families (7, 9, 3, 4+ years) but have also worked shorter term & part time regularly for several other families. In all, I've helped to raise over 30 children, from newborns to teenagers. I have a B. S. Ed. from Miami University and am certified to teach English, speech, theatre, & music. I've studied child development of all ages. I tend to approach my job as a teacher. When a child asks a question, rather than just giving them the answer, I'm more likely to respond, "That's a good question! How can we figure that out?" then guide the child to the answer. It gives them a sense of accomplishment & the self-confidence to problem-solve that they will need later in life. I am a singer, so I sing to kids all the time! I am an avid reader so I read to kids all the time! I think manners are very important; they teach respect and kindness. Fresh air, exercise, & time in nature are very important!
