About Shantal

I like working with kids because I grew up with a big extended family and have always been surrounded by kids. I also love experiencing when kids start to develop their own personalities and say whatever is on their minds. I started working with kids when I was a freshman at Marin Catholic high school. I couldn't drive at the time so my parents would drop me off and pick me up from where I was babysitting. To this day, I still babysit for that same family on occasion. In my spare time, I like to hike, read, and travel. I've lived in Marin County for my entire life and I've definitely taken the opportunity to explore the many hiking trails we are lucky to have so close by. Since graduating from UC Berkeley, I've tried to continue my learning by reading nonfiction books but also enjoy fiction books on occasion. I've been lucky to travel to 16 countries and am looking forward to seeing more of the world in the future.
