When I was in college I worked as a senior caregiver. Part of my duties as a caregiver was a housekeeper to help maintain organization and cleanliness of the house. This also includes doing errands such as mailing packages and letters, gardening, picking up prescriptions, cooking and grocery shopping. I have had 10 years of experience in housekeeping. Shania and I made an appointment for a job. I gave her my address and she told me it was on her calendar. Shania was supposed to arrive at my house at 9:00am. When it became 9:15 and I hadn’t heard from Shania, I contacted her. She told me she had been locked out of her account and couldn’t get directions to my house. I reminded her I only gave her my address. In any event, her excuses for not showing up and not contacting me were simply lame. Shania told me she had our appointment on her calendar. I guess not. For future appointments I suggest that Shania put the info into her personal calendar and confirm the appointment the day before. It’s not that hard. I’m very disappointed in the lack of professionalism shown in this, my first experience.
