About Shania

Hello! I am a M. A. Clinical Psychology student with plans on becoming a child psychologist. I have a passion working with children/adolescents and have steadily worked with toddlers/early school-aged children for two years at Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI). I worked alongside Speech-Language Pathologists in providing speech therapy to children with autism, with the age demographic ranging from 18 months to 5 years old. During these past two years, I have gained experience working with small children with various behaviors ranging from hair-pulling to self-injurious behavior. At KKI, I made Arts & Craft projects routinely for the patients and within my own past-time I do painting and scrapbooking. Some of the top skills I believe I bring when working with children is my quick problem-solving, patience, and knowledge on childhood development. I have been described by others as being bubbly, creative, and ambitious. Traits that I think truly shine when I am working with children!
