Having been a professional nanny for 11 years with children who were special needs, required daily medicine and bathing, I was very qualified when I began taking care of my 89-year-old grandmother full time, following the passing of my grandfather. I moved in with her in Arizona for a full year and helped her daily with bathing, meal prep, escorting to and from the restroom, light housekeeping and entertainment. I became the master of board and card games and loved seeing her laugh! Believe it or not, she found a boyfriend, at bingo night while at her church, who was her age but in a bit better health and when he moved in, I returned to Michigan. They've been together 5 years now and are very happy, but I miss the interaction with a senior. I would love to find a position like this again.
