While I do not have professional experience in companion care I have been a friend/companion for a few older adults and spent most of my work history as a caregiver for children. I am aware of the many ways that childcare and companion care are not the same but at the heart of both, for me, is the desire to provide a sense of safety, compassion, connection, and support in maintaining independence. In addition to running errands, light housekeeping, and some meal prep I am excellent at board/card games, love to sing and play guitar/piano, do all kinds of crafts, and know just enough about many subjects to be an excellent conversationalist!
