About Sarah

Hey! I have a bachelors degree in art and design, philosophy, and psychology from Alma College. During the 2021/22 school year I was in City Year, an AmeriCorps program. I worked in an 8th grade math classroom in Washington DC. In addition to supporting academically, I also mentored students socially and emotionally. I also have a couple months of experience working in a self-contained special education classroom. This school year, 2022/23, I am an academic interventionist at a local alternative high school. I mostly help students with their algebra coursework, but can aide in any subject if given assignments ahead of time so I can prepare adequately. I have worked as an art coordinator for a refugee center, and as a fiber art teacher for a summer camp. I aspire to help make math assessable to all, and enjoy promoting a safe, and relaxed learning environment.
