About Sarah

I own a design business and am babysitting on an occasional, part-time basis (mostly evenings/weekends) as a fulfilling way to supplement this work. Though I'm new to care. com I have a range of childcare experience, and currently substitute teach (infant/toddler to 8th grade) at a DC day school. I enjoy working with kids of varying ages and am a proud aunt to four and have loved spending time with them and helping my sisters out with care over the years. As a teenager I babysat, taught swim lessons, lifeguarded, coached swim team, and I also babysat in college. I respect parental values/preferences and enjoy keeping kids engaged and making time together fun and stimulating through creative activities, reading, and play. Friends tell me I have a calming presence with kids. I enjoy creating a welcoming home environment and am happy to help with cooking, cleaning, and pet care.
