We hired Sarah for a few weeks, things were going well until there was an incident. She left a bit of a poop mess on the changing table and did not notice. I let her know this is unacceptable and cannot happen again. She apologized and we agreed to move forward. The following week, she called out sick (which is totally fine). However, the week after, she was a complete no show. I tried to contact her via text/call, and have received no communication whatsoever. From an empathetic perspective, I sincerely hope she's OK. But more than likely, she just ghosted me and decided she did not want to work with us anymore. Maybe I'm old school, but I would rather someone tell me they are quitting than just disappear. I value open communication and this was severely lacking.
