My mother is the Director of Social Work in a nursing home and I spent many hours there volunteering there growing up. I think everyone needs a friend, no matter their age. I loved volunteering because I was able to learn so much as elders are always very knowledgeable. I want to make an impact on as many lives as I can, even if it is just in a small way, and by being there for an elder who can no longer fully take care of his or herself, I feel I can do exactly that. I am a licensed Registered Nurse and work part time in urgent care. I also have long term care experience (specifically with memory care) as well as experience in an inpatient hospital setting. I have a 1-year-old daughter who I would love to be able to bring with me. She's very entertaining and the life of the party!
