About Sara

Hi there! My name is Sara and I'm currently working as a 5th grade teacher. I teach science, math, and writing currently but have experience teaching reading in the past. I enjoy connecting with the students and building a relationship as I feel it helps them feel more comfortable and willing to persevere when things feel tough! I use growth mindset in my classroom and would be willing to work on that as well if it's of interest. I also believe that executive functioning skills (organizing, prioritizing, work completion, time management, etc.) plays a big roll in academics. I've used a handful of strategies in my classroom to help my students build these essential skills! I'm interested in supporting elementary aged students with homework help as well as specific skills like reading practice, math, science, and writing.
