Hi, my name is Sandie, and I have over 25 years of experience in elder care, ranging from companionship to complete 24-hour care. This includes experience with patients suffering from stroke, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, dementia, heart disease, cancer, renal failure, and other age-related ailments. In previous positions, I've provided everything from companionship to end-of-life care during the final days. I am also happy to care for the pets of my clients. In the past, I volunteered as a pet therapy team with my dog and am also a team evaluator, so I'm very "pet friendly" (except for reptiles). Administering meds is not a problem, and I've also worked with people on feeding tubes or swallowing issues. My car is reliable, so I can assist with errands or shopping. My clients have trusted me to handle their personal computer, office assistant, and banking needs when needed. If you are interested, please contact me, and I can provide you with a full range of references.

Sandie took care of my mother during the last years of mom's life. Mom, always anxious, grew worse and worse as she aged. Though doing well, she would run to the ER and doctors over concern with her heart, lungs, would-be cancer or UTIs, etc. (She died at 99 due to a fall.) Sandie is very medically knowledgeable and was marvelous in keeping her as calm as possible. She was terrific about staying in the ER or hospital with her (which meant extra hours). She was flexible (as was my mom) about working hours. Mom loved talking to her about current events, animals, the environment, birds, and many other things. I know she has taken care of people who have major cognitive and physical impairments. But she is also great with someone much livelier. She helped mom navigate modern technology and encouraged her to go out as much as possible.
