About Sandra

Sandra C worked for us for three years up until my Mom’s death at almost 97. I worked and did not live in the area but I was there every week for a large part of a day and sometimes an overnight so I overlapped with Sandra many times over the years. Sandra related very well to my Mom and clearly cared about her. She was attuned to any medical or other potential problems that arose and was conscientious in any changes in her needs both medically and emotionally. As dementia increased Sandra was capable and understanding and on target with her responses. She communicated well with other care workers as well as my sister and me. She became close to another exceptional care worker who was there weekdays and had been there for many years. Mom was comfortable with Sandra and glad to see her arrive. As well as benefiting from Sandra’s empathic care giving, I think Mom, having been a very conscientious fourth grade teacher, recognized in Sandra a common spirit. In the context of having hired many care workers -- first for both of my parents parttime, and then full time for close to 15 years -- I can say that Sandra was among the few very best. It’s wonderful to be able to trust someone implicitly with a loved one. Sandra has my contact information and I am happy to talk further with anyone to whom she has applied.
