I'd describe my personality as calm but energetic, quirky but wholesome, and kind but determined. I used to be a camp counselor for special needs children and young adults decades ago and found it fun and rewarding. I was a stay at home Mom for many years caring for my little one, and I know it takes a village. I have enough energy to wear out the kids and enough of an imagination and talent to allow them to explore their creativity. I have my clearances as I volunteer at my daughter's school. I'm a huge advocate for encouraging kids to share their feelings and a big mental health advocate (especially for boys). While many little girls wanted to grow up to be Moms, I always saw myself as a Maria Von Trapp from the Sound of Music or Mary Poppins advocating and caring for kids that were not of my own flesh and blood because I was blessed with great caregivers that were not my own parents.
