About Sabrina

Sabrina has been an absolute blessing for our family. My mother-in-law, Camilla, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, after a couple of scary episodes. So we moved her into our house to help keep an eye on her. This began well but became more and more difficult as the disease progressed. We began looking for an assisted living facility and tried a few. They seemed nice at first but were never consistent and sometimes did not feel trustworthy. Sabrina started taking care of Camilla about five years ago. She took her into her home and treated her like part of the family. It was amazing how Camilla clung to her. Even when she did not recognize me or my wife, she seemed to feel safe with Sabrina (even when she did not necessarily recognize Sabrina, you could tell she trusted her). When she was still able, Camilla would go everywhere with Sabrina, outings with the kids, errands, etc. Camilla felt important and loved. She would help with the kids and chores (and Sabrina let her, even though it was not really help). Most people would rather do something themselves, than deal with someone not doing it right. However, Sabrina used it as an opportunity to teach her children how to treat others and would just fix or redo what was needed. We always had a very good relationship. As things evolved, Sabrina kept us informed and we worked through the different needs. Hospice got involved a few times. They were very surprised how Camilla hung on. I truly credit the genuine love Sabrinaand her whole family gave Camilla, not just the care. I can't say enough how they have become our extended family!
