About Ryka

With over 10 years of dedicated childcare and tutoring experience, I've had the joy of nurturing young minds and hearts. I've spent 2 years as a daycare teacher and after, four wonderful years with a loving family of three children ( 2 boys, 1 girl, ages 11 months, 2 years, and 4 years old when I started), watching them grow and learn. Alongside this, I've dedicated a decade to volunteer tutoring through Tutoring Chicago, spanning students grades 1 to 12 in math, reading, and science. And most recently guest teaching for Chicago Public Schools. As a musician who adores playing the ukulele, I love incorporating music into teaching and playtime. Routines are my forte, and I delight in crafting healthy snacks and turning tasks into exciting adventures for kids. Tidying up, assisting with laundry, and even joining family trips are all part of ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. I'm also available for weekend babysitting to give parents a well-deserved date night!
