About Ruth

I am a retired teacher. I taught middle and high school. I also taught at Daytona State College. I substitute teach now but tutoring one on one is what I would like to be doing. I have taught critical thinking and have tutored for a number of years. I love children and look forward to teaching them how to process information so they are a success. I copied morse code in the Army. I was in Berlin when the Wall was still up. You can refer to me as the "spy" tutor, lol I'd describe my personality as organized, prepared and fun. I like tutoring because it gives me a chance to help students become successful. I also like showing them that they are seen and cared about. I started tutoring about 20 years ago and have continued through the years as I was a full time teacher. In my spare time, I like to paint, read, and go on walks. One thing you should know about me is I will not only teach them how to think critically but how to relate to other people.
