About River

I was given my first pet at age 10. He was a Russian Blue kitten with an unfortunate eye infection. I picked him because he looked like he was winking. From then on I've always had a companion of one kind or another. Quite often several. I've heard the word menagerie used quite often. Between the vast variety of pets I have had, working at Pet Stores since high school and horse stables soon after, to say the least, I have a lot of experience under my belt. I even ran my own dog walking/ training service at one point in time. I understand animals. Their body language and personal language within the species. Let's put it this way ... I taught my cats not to get on the furniture! I've always.. since high school when I got my first dog, received compliments on their intelligence and their well-mannered behavior. It surprised me.. I wasn't always aware of my gift. Each animal is unique in the way you approach them based on their individual issues and insecurities. This... I respect.
