I grew up babysitting regularly, and at 15 I began teaching dance to kids of all ages and continued with this for over 10 years. My mom was a Special Ed teacher and I often helped out in her classroom, also acting as camp counselor for many of her outdoor ed trips. In 2014 I lived with a partner and his 7-yr-old boy, with whom I enjoyed playing games, walking in the woods, and making music. After moving here 9 years ago I began working at Portland Farmers Markets, where I staffed the Play Zone, a craft space for kids, and assisted in the Kids Cook program. In 2016 I nannied full-time for an amazing family with 2 toddlers, and from then until now I've worked for 6 other families, with kids ranging in age from newborn to 9-yrs-old, developing strong relationships with each one. I am very patient and believe in letting children move through the world at their own pace while also maintaining a degree of routine necessary to build stability. I enjoy being silly, creative, and curious.

Rebekah was a nanny to our three year old daughter for 6 months this year and we can't commend her highly enough. She quickly became a member of our family and was beloved by our daughter, who still asks for her today (and she continues to babysit for us). She also took care of our 1.5 year old from time to time and juggled both girls seamlessly. Rebekah is patient, loving, reliable, kind, responsible and flexible. We needed a nanny to fill a gap between an out of state move and a new preschool and Rebekah was the perfect fit. Our daughter is a strong spirit and Rebekah created adventures and learning every single day across Portland. She navigated trains and buses to pick our daughter up at preschool, take her to museums, the zoo and fountains. Rebekah is extremely creative and developed amazing art projects on a weekly basis, in addition to dancing, games, books and songs. She is also a very good cook and our daughter loved cooking projects with her. Every time we came into the room, our girls were laughing and playing happily and from the first moment we met her, Rebekah took the time to talk to the girls on their level, paying attention to the details that makes them thrive. Rebekah was completely flexible with our shifting schedule and she was on time and reliable. Our family gives her our highest recommendation and any family would be lucky to have her.
