This is the background check we require for all caregivers.
Experience: 3 yrs
As a nurturing caregiver with three years of experience, I'm passionate about fostering a safe, stimulating environment where children thrive. My journey into childcare began with fulfilling babysitting roles, where I discovered my knack for caring for little ones. I'm motivated by the chance to positively impact their lives and support families by providing reliable childcare. My approach to caregiving is centered around patience, creativity, and warmth. I believe in open communication with parents, using their preferred method to discuss their child's day and address any concerns. When it comes to household rules, I'm comfortable enforcing them with consistency and understanding. I enjoy engaging children in various activities, including outdoor sports, physical games, and educational games that enhance learning. My background includes college-level early child development coursework, as well as essential training in First Aid and CPR.

We hired Raven for a 9 month job and decided to part ways after 3 months. We are very focused on developmental goals and language skills, and had an ideological difference with Raven. She was good at the standard level of care that included feeding, diapering, tummy time, and sleep hygiene. However, we found that she required redirection and retraining with assigned tasks, and we found ourselves cleaning up after her or completing tasks at the end of the day. We had asked to not talk on her phone so much while the baby was up and talk to him more engagingly to work on language skills. She instead put in an earbud and still did not engage with him. She made a few decisions during her time here that were questionable, such as when she put the baby in the stroller without the car seat when he was not ready to sit up on his own, and she did not attach the shade cover for him. She worked 9 hour days for us and we like to have a briefing at the beginning and end of her shift so that everyone is on the same page about what to do or what happened. She didn't like this and it was a struggle to talk with her about the goals for the day or the baby’s progress. Overall, we tried to communicate effectively our baby’s goals and schedule, and we incentivize her commitment with perks (holiday bonuses, paid time off, and provided requested snacks and lunches). In the end, we feel that she did the bare minimum and was not fully invested in the job.
