Experience: 7 yrs
Hi! My name is Raquel, I'm 21 years old, and I have over seven years of experience caring for children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. Since I was very young, I've helped care for siblings, cousins, and children in my neighborhood, and I've also worked as a nanny for different families. I was also a volunteer at a shelter where I cared for more than 12 children at the same time. I'm passionate about teaching and creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for kids. I've taught ballet, other dance styles, and swimming lessons, since I'm a strong swimmer and have experience helping children learn to swim safely and confidently. I'm calm, patient, responsible, and very adaptable to each child's personality and needs. I'm also a very good driver with over four years of driving experience, although I do not currently have my own car. I truly love helping children learn, grow, and feel happy and cared for.
Raquel was one of the most dedicated and caring volunteers we have ever had at our shelter, and having her with us for so many months was truly a blessing. She volunteered her time every single day, helping care for 12 children at the same time, ranging from 3 months old to 12 years old, always with patience, kindness, and so much love. From the moment the children arrived from school until bedtime, she helped with absolutely everything — changing diapers, feeding babies, helping during meals, bath time, bedtime routines, storytelling, homework, outdoor activities, and keeping all the children entertained, safe, and emotionally supported. She also volunteered to teach ballet and swimming lessons, which the children absolutely loved and always looked forward to. Even in very difficult situations, Raquel always stayed calm and responsible. I remember one evening when the power suddenly went out and many of the children became terrified and started crying, but she immediately comforted them, kept them calm, and handled the situation with so much maturity and care. The children adored her and constantly wanted to be around her because she made them feel loved, safe, and important. What makes her help even more special is that she did all of this as a volunteer, simply because she genuinely cared about the children and wanted to help. We will always be deeply grateful for everything Raquel did for our shelter and our children, and any family or organization would be incredibly lucky to have her.
