About Rachel

I was a paid pet sitter for several years, babysitting cats and dogs. I have experience taking care of dogs, cats, and reptiles that required medical care, such as topical treatments and administration of medication. I was a horseback rider for several years, and feel comfortable with basic daily care of horses (mucking, feeding, picking and grooming). I have personally owned cats, numerous rodents (rats, hamsters, gerbils, etc.), numerous reptiles (snakes, lizards), hedgehogs, and rabbits. In law school, I was vice president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, which organized conferences and seminars regarding the legal status of animals. A little bit about me! I have a 7-year-old cat; he is my child. I also recently got a baby hedgehog. I work 8-4 p.m. Monday-Friday for a regional government agency, writing grants. I'm looking for part-time work caring for animals for supplemental income, and also simply because I love being around animals!
