About Rachel

Hi families! I'm originally from Australia and have called Jackson Heights for the past 18 years. I have a double degree in English and Philosophy and a background that combines education, childcare, and operations & communications. I've worked in schools as a reading instructor, kindergarten teacher, and assistant at a Queens charter school. Most recently, I cared part-time for a little one who is now two, and this position is sadly coming to an end as the family is relocating to Arizona. I love making learning fun, encouraging creativity, reading with kids, and finding ways to turn ordinary days into something interesting. Outside of childcare, I've even started my own greeting card company, so creativity is a pretty big part of my life. I'm also slowly learning Spanish!
