About Rachele

I have been a career nanny since I was 26 yrs old. I have also worked as a nursing assistant for almost as long. I have cared for newborns to teens. My favorite age is 1 yr to 5 yrs. I use play as a time to learn the basic skills a child will need when they start kindergarten. There is a lot of music; lots of tactile play with paper, play dough, crayons, and chalk. I use picture/word association where I will show a picture and show the written name of the item in the picture. To me, play is learning. I have enjoyed my time with little people; watching them learn a new concept. Feelings and personal space are acknowledged and respected. Meltdowns are a learning process... no judgment. Conversation is offered if excepted... no pressure.

Rachie was my childhood nanny, and, in short, I would not be the person I am today without her. She is kind, compassionate, considerate, principled, organized, loving, caring, courteous — the soundtrack of my childhood is her infectious laugh and all of the Shania Twain songs she introduced me to. I know it is an overused cliché to say, but she was and remains our family — even after my brother and I grew up, she has supported and loved and cared for us (and our dogs!) as if we were her own. She was the easiest invite to my wedding last year. She is the best!
