About Rachel

Since 2014, I have worked with three different families long-term (1 year, 5 years, and 2 years). During those 8 years, I cared for 6 children, 3 of which were from birth. Prior to that, I worked as a preschool teacher for 4 years. In that time, I was trained in, and gained practical working experience with High Scope Curriculum. I am comfortable using the "active participatory learning" method to achieve powerful, positive outcomes. My goal is to help children excel in language and cognitive learning but also promote independence, curiosity, decision-making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem solving. I have a true passion for children and a desire to touch their lives in a lasting and meaningful way. The age range in my classroom was 2-5 years; however, I also have experience with infants and toddlers. I have worked with a variety of children, including those with special needs, those on the autism spectrum, as well as ESL (English as Second Language) children.
